Local to Athabasca since 2004, this is my second year serving on the board of directors for the Athabasca District Chamber of Commerce. I am a professional body piercer and have owned my business in the town of Athabasca since 2023, over my few years of being a business owner it has been such a joy to work with community members and local organizations to strengthen connection and promote inclusivity with the connections made through commerce.

I am a lifelong resident of the Athabasca community who deeply values small-town living and the strong connection it fosters. I am passionate about supporting and sustaining our community, and I believe the natural beauty that surrounds us is a blessing to be cherished. As a family counsellor in private practice for the past 17 years, I have been grateful for the opportunity to serve local individiuals and families and to contribute in a meaningful way to the well-being of our community - Jackie Shank, MACP, RSW.
